So, there's this thing called the Stanley Cup

I don't know if it's Florida or the fact that the games were on OLN, but I didn't even realize this was happening until yesterday. Did you? Regardless, a couple of nice pages from North Carolina. Raleigh did a clean job with impact, and Charlotte asks the burning question: Can Hurricanes' win create thirst for hockey.

OK, I know the Hurricanes play IN Raleigh and all, but does anyone else think Charlotte played this too small? Yes, people get upset about tax hikes, but the fine print says this will mean about an extra $40 for the average person, if I'm reading correctly.

The team's impact is bigger in the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) than in Charlotte or the rest of the state. The Observer doesn't cover the Canes on an everyday so I thought there coverage was appropriate. After living in both cities and reading both papers regularly, I think both were consistant with their play.

I looked at the pages from Canada today, and nearly ALL had centerpieces on the Cup, except... yep, Edmonton.
